“140 Years of Wingates Band”

Wingates Logo

We have spent an intensive weekend recording the Wingates Band who, as part of their ‘one hundred and forty year’ celebrations will be releasing a new double CD at the end of this year.

The recording features two newly commissioned works by the renowned composer Lucy Pankhurst. The first of these, ‘Legacy‘ features three of the band’s former principal euphonium players, David Thornton, Gary Curtin and Lewis Musson in an exciting and virtuosic composition.

The second, ‘Th’owfen Raconteurs‘ is a chronological musical journey and includes the spoken word depicting the life of the band from its formation in 1873 to the present day.

The first public performance of both works will take place at a special 140th Anniversary Concert which is to take place at Victoria Hall Bolton on the 26th of October. The CD is due for release in early December.

“Boobs and Brass” reviews

The brass band internet site “All4 Brass” has recently reviewed our two CDs recorded on behalf of the Northamptonshire based ladies from ‘Boobs and Brass‘ which reportedly has raised more than £20,000 for the charity Breast Cancer Campaign.

The two excellent reviews  detail the content and quality of the two recordings and conclude, “we can think of no better way to support a great group of girls and a charity that is so obviously close to their hearts, by purchasing their latest album which we know you’ll enjoy as much as we did.”

You can find the reviews at www.all4brass.com/reviews.html and you can purchase a copy from our On Line Shop at musichouseproductions.co.uk/brass_bands.html in the knowledge that every penny raised from the sales goes to the charity.
