Leyland Band CD ‘Them Basses’

We have finished the work on the Leyland Band‘s latest CD recording ‘Them Basses’.

As the title suggests the programme features the Band’s tuba principals, Chris Doran and Bill Carter in fine solo performances of an eclectic mix of works ranging from Sandy Blair’s Tijuana Tuba to Leslie Condon’s wonderful ‘Celestial Morn’. The music of Paul Lovatt Cooper is also featured in his beautiful ‘Song for the Skies’

In addition the soloists are joined by colleagues Iain Fieldhouse and Colin Doran in quartet performances by Eric Ball through to a fine arrangement of Mozart’s ‘Eine Kleine Nachtmusik’!

The CD will be launched at the Band’s Matinee Concert at the Lancastrian Suite at Chorley Town Hall on Sunday 22nd of September.

To hear a sample you can listen to the title track here, Getty Huffine’s march ‘Them Basses’, arranged by the Band’s musical director, Thomas Wyss.
