“Carol of the Shepherds” MHP523

“Carol of the Shepherds” is the latest CD recording by the York-based Shepherd Group Brass Band. They are one of the largest Brass Band organisations in the country, made up of five ensembles and over one hundred and fifty players ranging from absolute beginners to semi-professionals.

The Christmas music was recorded over two days in the June heatwave at the All Saints RC School in York. The fourteen items that make up the CD include an international selection of composers ranging from Erik Leidzén to Philip Sparke and James Curnow.

The CD is now in the production phase and will be available in plenty of time before the Band’s numerous Christmas Concerts. It will be available to purchase from the Band’s website in early October.

As something of a preview, you can listen to  two of the tracks here:-
