Band of the Scots Guards

Whilst in London at the same time as the recording with the Grenadier Guards we were fortunate to spend two further days with the Band of the Scots Guards.

Their objective was to record several ‘Heritage’ items for inclusion in the Household Division’s Free Download Music Library.

Many of the items were exclusively written by present and former Band members and Directors of Music with a strong affinity to the Band’s traditional Scottish roots.

Three of the movements from Philip Sparke’s “Hymn of the Highlands” are also included in addition to Percy Grainger’s “Ye Banks and Braes O’Bonnie Doon”, the latter based on the poems of Robert Burns.

The project is now complete and all the recorded items will be available shortly for free download on the music library operated by the Household Division.
