Description
‘Christmas’ Rushen Silver Band MHP119 is the latest recording from this brass band based in the south of the Isle of Man.
We spent four days on the island in February of this year and have fond memories of our time there. Of particular interest were the logistical problems caused by ‘Storm Erik’ which, at times, caused some problems with the actual recording schedule!
Rushen Silver Band is a thriving organisation which includes a healthy Training Band. This Band, Ballafesson Brass is validated by the Isle Of Man’s Children’s University. They are all supported by an active ‘Friends Group’ an enthusiastic organisation who help raise money to support the Bands.
The CD will be launched at the Band’s 70th Anniversary Gala Concert on Saturday 19th of October 2019. On this occasion they will be conducted by the inimitable Richard Evans, who regularly spends time on the Island with them.
This CD consists of twenty one seasonal tracks both traditional and some refreshingly new. Do not rush at the end or you may miss the final bonus!
To learn more about the Band’s work please visit their website where you will be able to purchase the CD. Take some time to have a look at their informative and regular Rushen Silver Band Newsletter, indeed subscribe to it.
